Family and FOOD!! Autumn Leaves Festival 2017

On Friday I got to go to the Autumn Leaves Festival in Mt. Airy, NC. I look forward to the Autumn Leaves Festival every year, because basically all the festival is is good ole southern food and shopping— my two favorite things!

My family and I have been going to the festival every since I can remember. My grandparents grew up in Mt. Airy and we still have some family there.

I was extra excited this year, because as y’all know I’m pregnant. Pregnancy has given me the ability to eat more than a grown man twice my size, so I was ready to indulge in allllllll the food that I’m usually too full for.

When we get to the festival, we always stop for a ground steak sandwich first, then make our way through all the other food stands as we shop. This photo is actually the second ground steak sandwich I ate as we were leaving. I was too hungry to take a picture of the first one. 😂

And last but not least, the collard greens, fatback, and cornbread sandwich…

I had a dream about this sandwich a few nights before we went to the festival, so I was so happy when I finally got my hands on it lol.

In between all the eating and shopping, my little cousin, Xalia, got fairy hair done. If you look closely you can see the little rainbow streaks in her hair. It was so cute!

Autumn Leaves Festival 2017 was a success!! Even though I had heartburn for 12+ hours afterwards, I have no regrets. 😂

Hope y’all had a good weekend as well!

  1. I’m enjoying following you and the pregnancy. All that food at the Autumn Leaves Festival looks so good!

I especially appreciated your previous post about living alone. You have a lot of insight. I am making the adjustments all over again.
I lived alone until I was almost 28 years old, but that was a very long time ago.

  2. I love festivals so much, I haven’t been to one all year. I’m drooling looking at the cornbread sandwich…wow. Everything looks so amazing!! Your baby must’ve loved all the food though. 🙂
